The PGA Tour completes the QBE Shootout US Golf Year

2021 is coming to an end and some matches will be held accordingly. With almost all professional tours retiring, the PGA Tour Golf Year ends with a very special competition. The QBE Shootout is a group event in Florida this week, where golf stars such as Lee Westwood and Jason Day try to hold a big final.

PGA Tour: QBE Shootout

Traditionally, the QBE shootout will take place again this year in Naples, Florida. From December 10 to 12, the PGA Tour will host the Dibron Golf Club. The tournament is hosted by former professional golfer Greg Norman, who has seen a number of winners at the team event since the tournament began in 1989. At the time, German golf legend Bernhard Langer was even in second place. However, not a single German participated this year. Two U.S.-Americans, Matt Kutcher and Harris English, are the reigning champions with a record score of 37. With participants like Jason Day, Kevin Na or Lee Westwood defending the title is not easy for both of them, but it has to be with an event, the team’s chemistry is right and last year both were able to prove it interesting.

Competition with three different game formats

As every year, the competition will only take place in three rounds, so it will not start until Friday, December 10th. What makes it special is that you can switch between three game formats. A fight is played in the first round so that both players can play from the same place and pick up the best ball again and again. In the second round, a modified form of four is used so that both players can turn off the tee and pick the best ball, but play alternately until the last. This game style is called “Green”. Foreball is played in the third and final round so that the experts can play the holes alone and get the best result in the respective hole number.
