Portuguese Paulo Sousa wants to give up his position as coach of the Polish national team. Polish Football Association president Cesare Colleza confirmed the interview media reports on Sunday, but did not want to let Souza go. “Paulo Sousa informed me today that he would like to terminate his contract with the association by mutual agreement.” Souza received another job offer.
Kulesza said the association did not want to accept this. “This is very irresponsible behavior and does not correspond to what the coach said previously. That is why I refused to agree.” Polish TV news channel TVN24 reported that Souza’s offer came from the Brazilian club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro. Sousa has only been coach of the Polish national team since January 2021. Under him, he disappointed in the European Championship in June and finished bottom of the group in the group stage with two defeats and one draw.
