Upon seeing the hopeless collection mess in a rural area near the city of Oklahoma, investigators immediately noticed a detail: the shameful thieves they were looking for were apparently not bookworms …
What a pity: In the United States, strangers stole hundreds of Amazon parcels that were supposed to be under the Christmas tree for families across the country for Christmas. Nearly 600 torn boxes and envelopes were found on New Year’s Day.
Surveillance information on the packages showed they had left the Amazon warehouse, according to Oklahoma County police. Shipment Tracking Indicates: Parcels must be delivered to their next destination – US Postal Service Delivery Center.
A police statement said: “Someone took out the items they wanted and threw away the rest. Apparently the thief was not a great reader – the book shipment was simply left there. ”To disappointed customers, investigators wrote:“ If you miss a package, please do not call us. We work with Swiss Post and have been in touch with Amazon so someone should contact you as soon as possible.
Amazon has been working closely with executives. The online legend declined to comment.
A similar incident in Alabama in November caused a stir. A FedEx service provider throws about 400 packs into a ditch. The driver, who was fired the day after he was found, was arrested Dec. 10 on suspicion of cargo theft.
