Dallas, TX – Sunday 02/27/2022 10:40 PM
Historic day for Michael Raffle!
The 33-year-old from Villach scored twice in the Dallas Stars’ 4-2 win over the Buffalo Sabers. It’s only his third double in the National Hockey League, and his first since March 2016.
Carinthian made the score 1-0 in the 13th minute from the American Airlines Center. Radek Feksa shoots from a distance, and Ravel beats Buffalo defender Jacob Bryson in front of goal and turns the ball into the net for goalkeeper Craig Anderson.
Rob Hintz (27 min) made it 2-0 in the second half before bringing Thompson’s crown (29) back into play – 1-2. In the middle third, Ravel (37) regains the old lead. Anderson can still dodge a wrist injury from the hole, but the ÖEHV slot follows him and pushes the disc over the line with his back.
In 46 games this season, Ravel has now scored six goals and six assists. Denis Guryanov (49) made it 4-1 in the 49th minute, and former star striker Cody Eiken’s (55) goal was just a cosmetic result.
After the match, Ravel was chosen as the first star in the game.
Dallas is fifth in the Middle League with 61 points. The Cypresses lost their sixth game in a row, and finished second from the bottom in the Atlantic League.
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Edmonton Oilers 2-1.
Teuvo Teravainen (12) and Sebastian Aho (17/PP) gave Canes a decisive lead, former VSV striker Derek Ryan’s (25) strike should be the only goal for the Oilers that evening.
