Vienna – Tuesday 15 March 2022, 4:38 pm
It is not yet clear who will play the friendly Austria on March 29 in Vienna, but if the Austrian Federation team loses in the World Cup qualifiers to Wales on March 24, the opponent will be Scotland. Ukraine, in the World Cup qualifiers, also announced a lineup for the friendlies against Poland and Wales’ losing against Austria on Tuesday.
“In the meantime, it has been established that Scotland will play away against the losing team in the play-off against Wales against Austria, but there is still no ‘comprehensive solution’, which means that the actions of the winning team from our match against Wales have not yet been decided,” he said. ÖFB at the request of LAOLA1.
So if ÖFB pulls out of Cardiff, Scotland will visit the Ernst Happel Stadium on March 29. Since it is possible that if ÖFB wins, and Franco Voda’s side will likely meet Scotland in the final in June, a friendly against Steve Clark’s side would not be an option beforehand.
In this case, Scotland will represent Wales, while the ÖFB team has not yet identified an opponent for this scenario.
