Local authorities said that the small town of Slavutych, north of the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, is surrounded by Russian forces.

A statement said the attackers were located directly on the city’s border. Workers involved in the maintenance of the decommissioned Chernobyl nuclear power plant live in Slavutich. There, in 1986, a major collapse occurred.
