The live race between Austria Lustenau and CAF for promotion to the German Bundesliga reaches a dramatic climax. FAC on Friday celebrated its 2-0 win (0-0) at home over Blau-Weiss Linz, which put it one point ahead of Lustenau at the top of the second division. On Sunday (10.30 a.m.), the Vorarlbergers can reclaim the old two-lap gap to secure a home win over SKN St. Polten.
Anthony Schmid scored the decisive goal only in the 77th minute in front of about 1,500 spectators in Vienna-Floridsdorf. In extra time, after a foul on Martin Rasner, Marco Krenz (95) achieved the deserved victory for the hosts, who are still playing matches in Lavnitz and against Juniors Ou in front of them. After St. Bolton, Lustenau still has to contend with Horn (A) and Young Violets (H). “I think the Lustenauers are under huge pressure on Sunday, and they’re going to spoil themselves because we won there now,” said Elias Felber of ORF FAC, whose penalty kick kick started.
Lavnitz advanced to fourth in the standings with a 3-0 (1-0) away win over Rapid Amateur. Elias Neubauer (17), Mark Gross (56) and Philip Wendler (62) scored Styrian’s third straight victory, thanks to which they overcame Amstetten. Lower Austria was surprisingly defeated with a goal by Dominic Wexel-Brown (63th) at home to Juniors O, who were relegated to the first division.
Wacker Innsbruck suffered a 2:3 (1:1) defeat at home to SV Horn, the winner of the match was Horne’s Okan Yilmaz with two goals (37, 62). On Thursday, the Tyroleans announced that they would not object to the negative licensing decision. At best, you can at least continue in the regional league next season. In other matches, Kapfenberg hit Young Violets 5-1 away from the field, Dardan Shabanhaxhaj (5, 10) and Winfred Amoah (40, 46) starred with two goals.
