Monroe and Hepburn movie icons sold at auction

The Givenchy wool suit Hepburn wore in the classic movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s fetched over $156,000. A brooch that Taylor gave to her mother brought $25,000.

Two of the glamorous costumes worn by Monroe and partner Jane Russell from “Let’s Blondes” brought in a total of $102,000. Monroe’s ear clips from the trailer for “How to Make a Millionaire?” It brought in $81,000. The star’s handwritten notes from Lee Strasberg’s acting class went under the hammer for less than $19,000.

As part of the four-day “Legends of Hollywood” auction, more than 1,400 memorabilia from stars and movie classics will be auctioned through Monday.
