HCB Südtirol apparently won the first game of the ICE Ice Hockey League against Salzburg on Friday. After a lightning start, Bolzano won 5-2 away and replaced the Red Bulls in the lead.
The Black Wings Linz improved to third with a 2:1 win over guest leader Pustertal, which was eventually secured. HC Innsbruck won the Peat Festival in Asiago 6-5 and is now fourth.
Vienna Capitals celebrated their 3-2 home win against VSV. The Graz99ers won 2-1 at Fehervar Stadium after overtime. In Feldkirch, the Pioneers Vorarlberg lost Olympia Ljubljana 4-1.
In the first-versus-second duel, Poozten was 2-0 up early thanks to two goals within 30 seconds from Angelo Miselli (8) and Daniele Mantenuto (9). After Paul Hooper’s goal (25 minutes), Mike Halmo (35 minutes), Mitchell Holts (49 minutes) and Dustin Gasley in Khali’s goal (52 minutes) completed the lead at the top of the table. Salzburg, who had to dispense with Peter Schneider, the league’s best player last season due to an upper body injury, suffered their third defeat at ICE and CHL in five days.
Vienna Capitals with first power play goals
With their third win, the Vienna Capitals moved into the middle of the table and scored their first goals in strong play of the season. The Vienna side managed to turn things around in the final third: Raphael Reuter, making his season debut after the end of the suspension period, capped his comeback with a hat-trick with a tie to make the score 2:2 (48), Maxwell Zimmer fixing the majority with the majority winning (52).
The Black Wings were behind the wolves of Pronik in Linz until late in the final third. Raised by the Steel Wings farm team due to staff concerns, veteran defender Marc-Andre Dorion equalized in the 54th minute, with Stefan Gaval scoring the winning goal with 58 seconds left.
Innsbruck wins
Innsbruck also won its second fencing this season with Asiago Hockey. Hay lost the lead with two goals before Adam Hewelka won the match in favor of the Tyroleans with his third goal in the evening (57./PP). The Asiago league newcomer received his fifth defeat in a row and always has no fewer than five goals.
At Szekesfehervar, the Graz99ers had to accept a last-minute equalizer, but thanks to Zintis Zusevics, they still celebrated their third win of the season in overtime.
