Sturm II wins round 12 of League Two Admirals at home against SKU Amstetten with 3:1.
The teams behaved equally throughout the match, and Amstetten was the slightly more committed team in the first half, without being able to take advantage of their chances. Even storms are always dangerous with pin pricks.
In the second half, the match speed increased, and Amstetten missed good chances to score from close range in the 52nd and 62nd minutes, both times goalkeeper Sturm Marek was on the spot.
In the 70th minute, Sturm Lang’s striker circled around the opposing goalkeeper, but his shot from a narrow angle was cleared by Denhofer on the line. A little later, Lang, after a superb combination through Schindel and Karner, pulled in a powerful shot to take the 1-0 lead (74).
Amstetten does not give up and gives a penalty kick in the 77th minute after an obvious mistake by the goalkeeper, which Tschernegg (80) turned into a equaliser.
In the final minutes, Sturm put his foot down again and rewarded with two goals from Toth (87′) and Lange (90’+2′) for a solid performance.
With the win, Sturm advanced to 10th in the table and now has 15 points. Amstetten loses again important points at the top of the table and occupies fourth place with 21 points.
