Herbert Ravalt’s Tour Tip: First tracks in the snow on Pleschnitzzinken

The new 10-seater gondola lift at the Galsterbergalm was ready in time for the upcoming winter season. Now only the necessary snow is missing. A person who has fallen so far is not enough for a ski operation. With good shoes, you can hike and hike to the mountain peaks around the alpine pastures of the Galsterberg.

Pleschnitzzinken (2112m) is one of the best known and popular. From the summit you can enjoy a far-reaching view of the Ennstal Mountains and Dachstein beyond. If you like to walk a bit on the snow, Galsterberg is the place to be.

From the Galsterbergalm mountain station, head north to the ski slope. Here we swing to the left and climb onto the tank. Shortly before we keep right on Forest Road heading north to signpost. We follow the signs on the left up a ridge through a high forest up to Pleschnitzzinkenhütte (1944m). From the self-catering hut, the route continues through open hilly terrain to the summit junction on Pleschnitzzinken.

After a long rest, we climb the east-facing ridge to the ski area. In the valley basin in front of the Kalteck, the path turns left to Galsterbergalmhütte. From here, it’s only a few meters to the starting point at the Bottinghaus car park.
