Austrian construction giant Strabag is ripping up a major construction site in Dresden with its subsidiary Züblin. A new administrative center will be built in the German city center by 2025. Of the € 116 million order value, two-thirds (66 percent) went to the group’s subsidiary as a general contractor in a joint venture, and the rest to consortium partner Dreßler Bau GmbH, Strabag announced.
With the new building, the many offices that are currently still spreading across the city will be grouped into one easily accessible location within the city in the capital of Saxony. The construction of the 33-meter-high seven-story building with two-level underground parking will begin in Ferdinandplatz in the first quarter of 2022. The total floor area is 33,500 square meters, the usable area above ground is 16,700 square meters, which will accommodate about 1,350 Employees.
According to the company, the project is based on the design of the architectural offices Barcode Architects (Rotterdam) and Tchoban Voss Architects (Hamburg / Dresden).
