US media unanimously reported that a forensic pathologist in the US state of Connecticut confirmed the death on Tuesday. Accordingly, Steinmann passed away on Monday at the age of 73. The cause of death was initially unknown, Rolling Stone Magazine and Variety reported.
Steinman is best known for working with Meat Loaf before working with Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, or Sisters Of Mercy.
Upon rehearsing the musical “More Than You Deserve,” poet, composer and music producer Steinman met up with Meet Love in the early 1970s. Together, they produced the hit album Bat Out of Hill (1977), which sold millions of copies. In 1997, Steinmann won a Grammy Award for his work on “Falling into You” by Celine Dion. In the same year, the musical “Tzze Deer of the Vampire” was performed for the first time.
Rock opera, as well as music inspired by Roman Polanski’s film of the same name, came from Steinmann. He also works with Andrew Lloyd Webber on the musical “Whistle Down the Wind”. The composer recently released their joint album “Braver Than We Are” (2016) with Meat Loaf.
