Austrian Football Federation star David Alaba is supposed to be attracted to the Spanish record champions after his contract with Bayern expires. Hansie Flick didn’t want to comment on that yet.
Possibly David Alaba’s future is with Real Madrid. Three months after the Spanish sports newspaper Marca announced, Sky TV announced a free transfer at the end of the season, as scheduled on Tuesday evening. At the moment, there is still no confirmation from the Madrilenians. Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick did not want to go too far from the window after the match against Bayer Leverkusen (2-0) on Tuesday evening.
“I can’t say anything about it because he hasn’t told me yet,” Flick said when asked if he thought Spain and Real Madrid would be a good title for his former student. “So I’ll wait for him to tell me that himself.” Like Alaba, Flick says goodbye to Bayern at the end of the season. Alaba’s contract is about to expire. According to Sky, the 28-year-old will sign a contract with the coaches “soon” until 2026.
There are now many indications that Alaba is indeed moving to the Spanish capital. The Spanish sports newspaper AS reported last week that the Austrian Football Federation star was already looking for a house in a suburb of Madrid. It is not clear if the desire for more playing time in midfield will materialize. Despite Bayern’s defense chief, Alaba once again shined against Leverkusen in sixth place. Flick: “David did very well again in midfield.”
