Volkersdorf. At the 5th Babolat Weinviertel Open, organizers UTC Wolkersdorf and organizers Tom & Tom as well as Sports and Wellness Mag. Martin Angerer were once again able to welcome 52 participants from Vienna and Lower Austria to the UNION Sports Centre.
Of the representatives of the province, Johannes Eder of Altlichtenwart presented himself as the strongest. In the men’s ITN 6.00 – 10.00 match, he reached the semifinals, where he had to concede defeat to eventual winner Kevin Sobin of TC Strebersdorf in a two-and-a-half-hour battle in three sets.
Simon Richter of UTC Schrick also reached the semifinals in the men’s ITN 4.00 – 10.00 competition.
Due to the high demand, an additional sixth tournament will be held from April 14-16 again at the UNION Sports Center in Wolkersdorf.
