Startups, investors, tech enthusiasts, innovators and visionaries are a must-gather for the festival. People who have ideas that often seem crazy at first should be given a chance to move on and maybe even implement their ideas. At 50 events, around 200 investors can also look for talent or business ideas so they can turn them into economic success.

Several focal points, many themes

The festival offers many focal points, including, for example, “Experience with Culture and Technology”. It is about the diverse possibilities of linking culture and technology. The organizers chose “artist Gustav Klimt and creative businesswoman Emilie Fluge” as celebrity models. Following in the footsteps of well-known Viennese fans is the Ball of the Future, a mix of parties and networking where innovation, art and technology come together. This also includes the field of artificial intelligence, that is, artificial intelligence.

Stunning opening in Carlsplatz

The fact that one of the world’s largest startup competitions from the USA is represented in the city also shows that Vienna can definitely keep up with other cities as a startup city. Here the Austrian participants are selected, who then travel to the United States and can fight for an investment amount of US$1 million.

The initiation festival takes place at 27 locations in 12 districts, from the Hofburg to the Spittelau incinerator, Haus des Meeres and traditional cafés. On Tuesday, it will open with a show at Karlsplatz, the festival’s central meeting point. According to the organizer, the streets must be transformed into a stage where mystery and wonders unfold. Under the slogan “Proud to Ride”, figures made of light, air and various materials parade in front of visitors in honor of the symbol of the festival, which is a reared horse.
