“Novak just wants to buy time and change the pace of the match,” Mischa Zverev said after Djokovic started a debate with referee Fergus Murphy.

The defending champion complained to the Irishman that he would not have time to get a towel if the shot clock was run too early.

The shot clock speeds up the game, and players are forced to serve within 25 seconds.

“It’s been the case for years that the shot clock is pressed when the crowd is quiet. You don’t have to get a towel, that’s your job,” says Zverev.
