Born in Upper Austria, he will be promoted in the company after about two years and will contribute his international experience.
According to the Wien Nord Serviceplan broadcaster, Axel Spendlingwimmer’s career had international dimensions early on. After completing his studies in Communication Management and the Miami Ad School, he started his career at Jung von Matt / SAGA in Hamburg, where he won several international awards for clients such as BVG, Otto and Techniker Krankenkasse. After five years abroad and a position at BETC Paris and AKQA London, he returned to Vienna and worked at Jung von Matt/Donau, where he was jointly responsible for campaigns for Erste Bank, Caritas, Burger King and Internorm for several years.
New challenges as a team leader
In July 2021 he moved to Wien Nord Serviceplan, where he worked with clients such as Casinos Austria, Tipp3, Stiegl Bier and Wiener Linien. Since 2022, Axel Spendlingwimmer has also been a member of Creative Club Austria. Last but not least, what appeals to him about his new role is the opportunity to use his international experience: “I look forward to new challenges as a team leader, especially for international projects within the Serviceplan group, versus creators from around 20 countries,”
Christian Hellinger, creative director of Wien Nord Serviceplan, sees Spendlingwimmer’s appointment as a personal expression of what Serviceplan calls “ÜberCreativity”: “Axel’s career path is characterized by multinational exchange, by drawing inspiration from a wide range of markets, media channels and specializations. He defines them as eternal mechanics.” For exciting and relevant communication and outstanding design as well as the revolutionary technologies and cultural playgrounds of Gen-Z. It is exceptional talents like himself that continue to ensure a higher form of innovation in the Wien Nord Serviceplan.”
