A number of reports have already made it clear that Starfield got off to the stellar start that was hoped for. Now it’s officially approved: the sci-fi epic has made Bethesda’s most successful debut ever.
Early access, which was only intended for purchasers of expensive editions, has already drawn more than 2 million players to the endless expanses of Starfield. This week saw the official start of all players and Starfield instantly book over 1 million players at the same time. It was already clear that the title got off to a good start, but now there’s also official information for the first time – and it’s promising.
Bethesda has now confirmed via the official Twitter account or X that Starfield already has more than 6 million players – shortly after the start of sales. This means that Starfield is now officially Bethesda’s biggest game launch in the company’s history – which is pretty amazing. After all, Bethesda has made blockbusters like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout in the past, and they all underperformed in terms of sales in that short period of time.
With the weekend underway, the numbers of concurrent gamblers in Starfield are likely to continue to rise and only one question remains: Will Starfield also now be able to hit the magical 10 million mark right through the first week of sales? At least the chance exists!

Starfield has been available for PC and Xbox Series X/S since September 6; The game is also part of the Microsoft Xbox Game Pass subscription model.
