Digitalization expert Markus Schaffhauser (54 years old) leads Eviden Austria as Regional Director. Eviden is the European technology leader in secure and sustainable data-driven digital transformation. The company grew out of the IT group division Atos. In his new role, Schaffhauser will be responsible for the digital, cloud, data, edge computing and security areas of the company’s Austrian subsidiary. “There is nothing currently more important for companies than digital transformation. Markus Schaffhauser has many years of experience in the digitalization sector. The business economist and IT expert started his career in 1998 at Siemens Nixdorf in the current corporate environment. In 2003, Siemens sent him to Medwell Internet Service AG as a member of the management board and Schaffhauser remains managing director of Archivium, the electronic document archive of the Austrian Bar Association.
Following the acquisition of Siemens IT Solutions & Service GmbH by Atos IT Solutions, Schaffhauser continued his career with the French group and held, among others, leadership positions such as Global COO of Cloud Operations and Enterprise Software, Global COO of Business Solutions and Platforms, and Head of Atos Global – Innovation Centers.
In addition to his work at Eviden, the Lower Austrian has been a lecturer at the University of Vienna since 2004 and also holds several volunteer positions. Markus Schaffhauser is a board member and spokesperson for the Sustainability Area of Cyberattack, a member of the Board of Directors of the Austrian Data Intelligence Attack, the University Council of the German University of Applied Sciences and is active as Chairman of the digital competence initiative “fit4internet”.
Schaffhauser and his projects have often received awards throughout his career for his commitment and expertise in the field of digitalisation. Among others, the IT specialist has received the Gold Medal of Honor for services to the Republic of Austria, the Constantinos Award, nominations for the State Award for Consulting and IT and the European e-Government Award as well as the EBIZ e-Government Award. .
