SK Rapid Academy’s operations continue. The head coaches of the green and white academy teams are David Gattinger (U15), Florian Watchman (Under 16 years) and Jurgen Kerber (U18) are extending their papers at Hütteldorf in the long term. With this contract extension, SK Rapid wants to build on the successful work it has done in recent years in the academic sector and create a long-term foundation for further success.
The three head coaches have been working at Hoteldorf for more than ten years and are therefore jointly responsible for the success of the young talent. In addition to the U-16 Championship title in the 2021/22 season, SK Rapid has always produced the highest number of Austrian youth national team players in recent years and has managed to show a high permeability of local players who are taking a step towards professional football. While all three coaches have a UEFA Elite Junior license in addition to a UEFA A licence, U18 coach Jurgen is a graduate Kerber Currently UEFA Pro licence. A level of training that his two teammates will also strive for in the coming years.
General Manager SK Rapid Stephen Hoffman: “In addition to training and further education for the players, the focus is also on developing the coaches at SK Rapid. All three have done an excellent job in recent years, and we are very happy to continue accompanying them on their journey. David, Flo and Jürgen all have a great deal of specialist knowledge, and they work very hard.” And ambitious, which is why we continue to expect such positive development from our young players.
Academy Director Willie Guilt: “Despite their young age, David, Flo and Jurgen are among the most recognized academy coaches in the country. By signing the contract, we not only wanted to send a signal of continuity, but also continue to trust the coaches who fully live and implement the SK Rapid coaching philosophy.” Day in and day out.We are very satisfied with their work so far and look forward to the future together.
