The remainder of 25 years of cultural work

Wartburg/Briegarten. The Woast Cultural Association will look back at 25 years of cultural work in the area on Saturday, October 14, at the Old Shop in Brigarten.

Since its founding in 1998, the Woast Cultural Association has organized more than 130 events in various locations in the Wartberg ob der Aist, Hagenberg and Pregarten region. Sometimes with a bigger budget, sometimes with a smaller budget, but always with the help of music-loving friends who have invested countless hours of unpaid volunteer labor to make alternative cultural events in rural areas possible. A quarter of a century later, we should now look back to appreciate what has been achieved. To do this, on Saturday 14 October, Woast will move into the old empty shop (“Luftensteiner”) in Brigarten, open its archive and display the remainder of its 25 years of cultural work. The opening exhibition begins at 7 p.m. A concert with Swedish post-punk/new wave band INVSN follows from 9.30pm. Originally started as a solo project by Dennis Lexin (Refused, The International Noise Conspiracy), INVSN has now evolved into a five-piece band. In 2022 they released their fifth album “Let The Night Love You”. Then they inspire with catchy pop hooks, post-punk energy and new wave synths reminiscent of the best bands of the ’80s. They played their only concert in Austria on this tour at the Altes Kaufhaus. Admission to the exhibition is free, and admission to the concert (evening box office only) costs 10 euros. In keeping with the celebration, the Woast Brew Crew is serving up their annual Woast beer.
