NHL in Sweden: Detroit fails to win by four goals

What a start to the World Series! The NHL is represented by four teams in Stockholm Thursday through Sunday. The first match was really tough.

On Thursday night, the Detroit Red Wings came back from a 4-0 deficit, but ended up losing 5-4 in overtime to the Ottawa Senators.

The Red Wings started the game better, but the Canadiens celebrated for the first time. Tkachuk puts the Senators ahead in the sixth minute. Just four minutes later, the Ottawa captain scored the second goal. Sanderson made it 3-0 in the 13th minute and gave the Sens a great start at the Avicii Arena.

The Detroit running back is still uncapped

78 seconds into the second section, Norris made the supposed initial decision. Shortly before halftime of the game, Detroit started to catch up. Swede Raymond scores in front of the home team’s fans and puts the Red Wings on the scoreboard for the first time (30). In the 34th minute, Peron was hit with his glove by a slap shot and the ball flew into the net beyond Corbesolo.

Just four minutes later, DeBrincat cut it to 3:4 with his 11th goal of the season – Detroit was back in the game. After 39 seconds, Gostisbehere scored the famous equalizer (38th). In the final third, both teams focus on defensive work, and scoring opportunities are rarely convincing.

Swedish ice hockey fans will be watching overtime, as it doesn’t look like there will be a winner for a long time. But with two seconds left, Stutzle hit the net baseball-style to score the winning goal.

The Senators blew a four-goal lead, but eventually won 5-4 in overtime. It is the second victory in a row for the communists.
