VSV defeated table leaders Fehervár 2-1 after extra time, thus causing the biggest upset in Round 33 of the Win2day ICE Hockey League.
The Eagles will have to chase the deficit for a long time because the visitors take the lead in the 14th minute of the match and can then maintain it for a long time. After winning the face-off in the attacking third, Harry passes it back to the lurking Robertson, who drives the puck from halfway into the top right corner.
Desjardins equalizes
Villach's attacking efforts were not rewarded until the 51st minute. When there was a strike in front of Vihervár's goal, Desjardins quickly switched and pushed the puck into the top right corner.
In the end, extension had to be used, with Sabulic responsible for Villach's shock win from mid-range.
This means that VSV is just behind Pustertal Wolves, who were defeated by KAC in the parallel match, and is in sixth place with 49 points. Pustertal is two points lower and one game behind. Despite the defeat, Fehervár continues to laugh at the top with 66 points.
