Lensbaby Sweet 22 Pancake Lens – an impact lens for full frame cameras

For more than 16 years, the American company Lensbaby has been producing camera lenses that can be used to achieve various creative effects – in particular by manipulating clarity and blur. It features the “Sweet Lensbaby Effect” that makes it possible to shoot a small area of the subject sharply with the Sweet 35, Sweet 50 and Sweet 80 lenses, while the surrounding area is blurred. This creates a sweet spot that – when the lens is inserted into the Lensbaby Composer Pro II – can be moved by tilting the Lensbaby lens.

New to the Lensbaby range is the Lensbaby Sweet 22 with a focal length of 22mm (full format) and a fixed aperture of f/3.5. Compared to all other Lensbaby lenses, it has the smallest sweet spot with the most distortion outside of a sharp image. The new ultra-wide-angle lens with bayonet is available for Canon RF, Nikon Z, Sony E, Fuji X and Leica L and is suitable for both full-frame mirrorless and APS-C cameras. Manual focus can be placed on subjects located up to 13 cm from the front lens.

To avoid overexposure to very bright light, the Sweet 22 kit includes an ND8 filter. The Lensbaby Sweet 22 has a 46mm filter thread, so other filters such as CPL polarizing filters can also be used. The kit also includes a hard lens case and a special Lensbaby lens cleaning cloth.

The Sweet 22 Kit and Lensbaby Sweet 22 (without accessories) will be available at Lensbaby dealers in Germany and Austria in March 2024 for €240 and €200 respectively. For more information about the Lensbaby Sweet 22 Pancake Lens, visit Lens Baby website.
