Two-hour air warning: Ukraine intercepts 38 Russian drones

Several people were injured in one of the worst Russian air strikes in recent weeks. Russian authorities said that a fuel tank caught fire in Kursk, Russia.

The Ukrainian military said it intercepted and destroyed 38 Russian drones on Wednesday evening. The Ukrainian Air Force said that the Russian Armed Forces launched a total of 42 drones at targets in Ukraine. There were injuries. According to the local governor, a fuel and lubricants warehouse in Russia's Kursk region was bombed by a Ukrainian drone.

The Ukrainian Air Force said that Iranian-made Shahed drones were intercepted in southern, central, western and northeastern Ukraine. In some parts of the country, the weather warning lasted more than two hours. It is one of the worst Russian drone attacks in recent weeks.

Local authorities in Sumy, in the northeast of the country, said that at least 13 homes, a kindergarten, and about 40 private cars were damaged by the drone attack. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, seven people were injured in Sumy, including a ten-year-old boy.

Russia: Ukrainian drones shot down

According to the local governor, a fuel and lubricants warehouse in Russia's Kursk region was bombed by a Ukrainian drone.

Governor Roman Staroit said via SMS on the Telegram application that the fuel tank caught fire. No one is hurt. The plant in the city of Zheleznogorsk for the production of iron ore belongs to the Metalloinvest company owned by oligarch Alisher Usmanov and is on international sanctions lists. According to the company, the fire has no impact on continuing work at the factory.

Authorities in the Russian states of Belgorod and Voronezh also announced that Ukrainian drones had been shot down. Kursk, Belgorod and Voronezh lie on the border with Ukraine.
