Six people were killed in a nighttime Russian drone attack on the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine. Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov said on the Telegram online service today, Saturday, that ten other people were injured. The attack occurred in the northern Shevchenkivsky district. Ukraine's state emergency service confirmed that six people had been killed and “at least ten” injured.
Kharkiv Governor Oleh Senigubo had previously spoken of the killing of two men in the region. Police confirmed the deaths of two people and said eight people were taken to hospital with “injuries resulting from explosions and shrapnel.”
The injured are six men between the ages of 23 and 76 years and two women between the ages of 25 and 52 years. According to police, no one was injured in another attack on the village of Danilivka outside Kharkiv.
Pictures posted by police on the Telegram online service showed several fires in civilian areas, including near a high-rise residential building. According to Ukrainian authorities, many buildings were damaged by Russian attacks, including residential buildings and a gas station. (APA/AFP)
