NATO and the G7 promise to provide more assistance in air defense

NATO defense ministers promised Ukraine to deliver additional air defense systems in a crisis meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

This was stated by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg yesterday after discussions held via video conference in Brussels.

In light of ongoing Russian air strikes, G7 foreign ministers are also committed to strengthening Ukraine's anti-aircraft capabilities. This came in the joint statement published by the ministers at the conclusion of their meeting on the Italian island of Capri in the Mediterranean.

Zelensky is reserved

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was content with caution. “We in Ukraine appreciate the efforts of every leader, every country that is really active, keeping its promises and trying to improve our air defense capabilities,” Zelensky said in his daily video address.

The president had previously visited a command point near the besieged city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, located on the front line in eastern Ukraine. Zelensky said he had been informed of the situation.
