TV star Katie Karrenbauer has suffered a stroke. The actress mentioned this in a video on Instagram.
Katie Karrenbauer (known from the RTL series “Behind Bars – Women’s Prison”) had to undergo surgery. The reason for this was a stroke.
“It's been 48 hours since my surgery. I was in the ICU until yesterday. I couldn't move my hands or forearms on Tuesday of last week. The first thing that came to my mind: Could this be a stroke?” Karrenbauer says in an Instagram video.
The 61-year-old had already noticed physical problems and asked her 92-year-old father for advice during the hospital visit. On the advice of doctors, the actress went to a specialist. “I then went to the phlebologist and finally to the hospital. I hesitated at first, then went to the emergency room,” Karrenbauer told Bild.
After several hours of examinations, it was clear that Karrenbauer needed surgery. According to the actress, things went well. “I now have a long scar and will have to have another operation on the other side of my neck. But the doctors have told me that my chances of becoming fully healthy again are very good.” Words that should reassure her fans.
“I look bad now. I'm black and blue, stabbed everywhere. But I also had to think about many friends, like Gabi Koster,” says Karrenbauer. Comedian Koster suffered a stroke in 2008 and has been dependent on a wheelchair ever since.
