NVIDIA launches an initiative for SFF PCs with high-end graphics cards

A powerful gaming system no longer requires a large tower. Even small form factor PCs can now be built with the fastest components in the high-end category, dramatically reducing the size of the gaming PC. But searching for the right graphics card often makes the project more difficult and requires extensive research. NVIDIA now wants to address this situation with its new SFF Ready program, which was introduced today at Computex 2024 in Taipei.

However, this is just a guideline, similar to Studio for laptops. Graphics cards or corresponding cases don't have to be expensively certified to get the extra sticker. NVIDIA only specifies to its board partners the maximum dimensions that an SFF-ready enthusiast card must have in order to be able to fit it in appropriate cases. The length of this, including the radiator, must not exceed 304 mm and must not exceed 2.5 openings, and the width must not protrude beyond the opening cover, resulting in 151 mm. However, for case manufacturers, NVIDIA requires a minimum footprint of 312 x 154.5 mm and of course 2.5 slots.

This creates some buffer so that you can, for example, easily plan the power supply or enable worry-free installation.

The new label aims to make it easier for customers to find the right components for their new SFF-designed PCs. Various cards from ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI or ZOTAC – such as the ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 Super Twin Edge or ASUS ProArt GeForce RTX 4080 Super OC – are already ready for SFF enthusiasts, just as many cases from Cooler Master, Corsair, Lian Li or Thermaltake. Examples here include the Corsair 2000D and Cooler Master MasterBox NR200P.

New beta version of the NVIDIA application

Otherwise, NVIDIA has announced a new beta version of its NVIDIA app, which will replace GeForce Experience and Control Center in the long term. It should appear next Tuesday, and will then enable a new performance panel with stats or even one-click overclocking, while also allowing video to be recorded at higher bitrates and with better compression. You can also get three months of GamePass through the rewards program. However, login is required for this purpose.
