Til Schumacher is one of ten players to leave Austria Klagenfurt on a free at the end of the season.
After his farewell at Wörthersee, Schumacher's new club has now been decided. The left-back moves to Saarbrücken in the third division of the German League, and will therefore continue to play with goalkeeper Philipp Menzel, who is on the same path in the summer.
Longtime favorite under Pacult
“I communicated early on my desire to return to Germany. FCS is a traditional club with a big fan base. I am already looking forward to pulling on the blue and black shirt,” Schumacher explains.
The 26-year-old has played all competitive matches for Carinthians in 2023/24 and has played a total of 2,873 minutes in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. He will leave Austria after a total of 86 appearances, eight assists, and no goals in his three seasons under coach Peter Bacolt.
Saarbrücken finished last season in fifth place in the third highest German league. In the last four years we have always finished between fifth and seventh place, and now we want to make another attempt at promotion. They were also surprised by reaching the semi-finals of the German Cup.
