Insta launches CSA-certified Matter module

Lüdenscheid electronics specialist Insta GmbH officially presents the company's first CSA-certified Matter product. The push button module is a battery operated push button module with four push buttons and is now available as an OEM or white label product for B2B customers. The unit uses the Matter 1.1 communication protocol. With the Insta GmbH product, customers can integrate intelligent functions into their switching software that have been standardized by Matter and thus expand their product range.

Smart light at the touch of a button

The button unit (CR 2430 battery type) allows the light to be turned on and the desired brightness adjusted at the push of a button. In addition, users can use the unit to control shaders, recall scenes, and use automation functions.

Thanks to the different push button combinations (single, double or long) and the long-lasting and easily replaceable battery, flexible installation and use are guaranteed at all times. The unit's four buttons can be configured directly in the Matter to turn devices on and off or activate certain scenes. The connected Matter system translates commands into desired scenarios or switches custom devices.

The push button unit is a “matter over matter” device. Wireless connectivity during operation is power efficient via Thread. Operation is via Bluetooth LE and can be performed using any standard smartphone.

Versatile integration, compatible with Apple and Co.

The new product from Insta GmbH fits into existing switchboards with internal dimensions of 55 x 55 mm with appropriate mounting elements. This ensures a high level of flexibility in the application. In addition, the push button module from Insta GmbH uses universal key combination and can therefore already be used with systems such as Apple Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant. In addition, the push button unit is prepared for use with links.

This allows for seamless integration with existing smart home systems. Updates can be easily made via the respective Matter platform applications, so the system always stays up to date.

The Matter module from Insta GmbH is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as:

• Apple Home platform matters: With a short press of a button on the push-button unit, the “Cinema Evening” scene in the living room is called up. The function binding is implemented in the Apple Home app.
• Samsung SmartThings platform matters: With a long press of a button on the push button unit, the light on the entire ground floor is turned on. The function binding is implemented in the SmartThings app.
• Apple Home platform matters: Double-pressing a button on the push-button unit launches Apple Music with your favorite playlist. The function binding is implemented in the Apple Home app.

The push button module is now available to B2B customers as an OEM or white label product.
