HDM in concert – brass music meets Bach

In 2025, the Tyrolean Brass Music Society will celebrate its centenary with nearly 20,000 musicians in 302 member bands – a reason to present brass music in all its aspects: traditional and modern brass music, brass music in motion, and as in this concert as an interview with works Johann Sebastian Bach. This music, which can usually be played flexibly in its own right, can be experienced not only in traditional settings, but also in newly interpreted versions for symphony wind orchestra. However, transposing Bach's compositions requires a conscious decision regarding orchestration. It is about using the distinctive timbres of individual wind instruments while at the same time maintaining the purpose and structure of the original works. JS Bach and Wind Orchestra – a harmonious connection that demonstrates that this composer's music is timeless and can unfold its magic in a wide range of configurations and interpretations.
