Fix it! Sturm Graz trades key kicker Schnegg to MLS

SK Sturm Graz and David Schnegg are going their separate ways after two years together.

The “Black and White” announced this on Thursday afternoon.

The 25-year-old left-back is daring to embark on a new adventure in MLS and will join DC United. According to information from transfermarkt.at, the transfer fee should be around €1.85 million.

The new employer is currently at the bottom of the table in the Eastern Conference.

Change the nature of the “personality”.

“David Schnegg has shown strong performances in the last two years and has always given 100 percent to SK Sturm. When he came to us with a desire for change, also for personal reasons, we of course wanted to accommodate that and we were able to do so.” Managing Director of Sport Andreas Schicker commented on the change: “So with DC United we can find a good solution.”

Despite his young footballing age, Schnig already has some positions behind him. The left-footed player has played for FC Liefering, LASK and WSG Tirol, among others. In Italy, the Tyrolean has played for Venezia and Crotone. There was a national debut for the ÖFB team as part of a friendly match in a 1-1 draw against Moldova in September 2023.

Shortly before the move was announced, Sturm Graz completed a loan deal for Bayern's Croatian star Lovro Zvonaric (all info >>>).
