GAK likely to bring former 2nd division footballers back to Austria

GAK will likely bolster their defence again shortly before the start of the season.

According to information from the Norwegian portal “Nettavisen”, Martin Kreuzrigler is about to sign for the newly promoted Bundesliga side and thus return to his homeland. The central defender is currently under contract with Vålerenga in the Norwegian league until the end of 2024.

Negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage and the change is expected to be made official this week. Nothing is known yet about the transfer fee.

Kreuzrigler moved from Poland to Oslo last summer. This season, the 30-year-old has started all 14 league matches. However, he must now return home and enter the ADMIRAL Bundesliga for the first time.

The central defender played for Blau-Weiß Linz, Horn, FAC and Asteria Lustenau in the 2. Bundesliga between 2012 and 2017. After a year-long trip to Malta, Kreuzrigler returned to Blau-Weiß Linz for two seasons.
