It's clear that Mortal Kombat 1 fans can soon look forward to an update in the form of a larger story expansion; this is now being hinted at by a leak.
San Diego Comic-Con is kicking off in a few days, and there could be an official announcement about a larger story expansion for the Mortal Kombat 1 fighting game. Corresponding details have already leaked online, including a trailer that is supposed to air as part of the event.
An insider who previously made the layoffs at NetherRealm public before they were officially confirmed has shared information about the add-on online. The story expansion will consist of five chapters and focus on the characters Cyrax, Sector, and Noob Saibot. The story mode also receives three additional stages, but no deaths have been specifically developed for this purpose.
The big DLC release shouldn't take long: it's scheduled to happen next September and there may already be a release date set at San Diego Comic-Con.
However, the leaks also suggest that some of the expected game modes will not make their way to the DLC, and that some may have been cut entirely. Among other things, fans fear that the tag team mode from previous series spin-offs may no longer appear in Mortal Kombat 1.
