No Man's Sky: PS5 Pro upgrade found in game files

The supposed release approaching PS5 Pro is now also noticeable in No Man's Sky, where there are already references to the new platform there.

It’s no secret that Sony is working on a more powerful PlayStation 5 Pro. Only recently, a well-known insider, Tom Henderson, confirmed that the plan is still for a November 2024 release – and it’s possible to imagine a presentation as part of Tokyo Game Show 2024 in September.

Sony is encouraging developers to make improvements to their existing and upcoming titles for the new PS5 Pro. It seems that Hello Games is following through on that call, as the recently released Worlds Part 1 update, which brought No Man's Sky its highest player count in a long time, already appears to contain clear references to the PS5 Pro and planned improvements to the game in the game files.

A developer and game modder called ThatBomberBoi found the relevant locations in the files by scraping data through social media. There are now graphical presets for “Trinity” — which, according to multiple internal reports, is Sony’s internal codename for the PlayStation 5 Pro.

What exactly can you expect from the most powerful console when it comes to No Man's Sky? The minimum dynamic resolution factor is increased from 0.6 to 0.8. Meanwhile, Hello Games is improving the base resolution when using the PS5 Pro from 1300p on the PlayStation 5 to 1730p on the PlayStation 5 Pro. As a result, players can expect a sharper and more detailed visual gaming experience.

Aside from these two options, some secondary settings have also been increased from “High” to “Ultra” so there are likely to be other visual improvements. However, they have expressed themselves Reddit Some players are already disappointed with the improvements made to the PS5 Pro; they were hoping for more. After all, the jump to 1730p isn’t a huge deal. However, it wasn’t clear at first how the whole thing would impact frame rates and whether further improvements could be expected on that front.
