Vierzigerhof Langenlois – Literature in Cinema: “The Miracle of Nature” with Isabella Weimer and Jörg Berger

Isabella Weimer, born in 1976, studied theatre, film and media studies in Vienna and has been working as a theatre director and freelance writer since 1999. She writes novels, poetry, travel prose and essays. She has received numerous grants and awards for her novels, including a nomination for the prestigious Bachmann Prize.

Her inspirations include her travels and her involvement in the fine arts. In 2022, her novel “Frida” was selected for event funding by the Austrian Library Association. Most recently published publications: “Cadavre exquis” (story, NÖ Literary Edition 2021), “Langeweile” (Kremeier & Scheriau 2022), “Frida” (2022), “We can be a forest” (2024), both by Braumüller.

“Archive of the Future” looks behind the scenes of museums

The Natural History Museum in Vienna collects, researches, archives and contemplates with great intensity – more than 30 million objects have been collected here over the centuries for revisiting again and again.

Independent artist, filmmaker and photographer Jörg Berger’s “Archive of the Future” takes a look behind the scenes of a traditional museum, away from the familiar showcases, and shows a microcosm of institutional research that addresses today’s social challenges. A cinematic tribute to the importance of science and an insightful meditation on life on Earth – and beyond.

The Archive of the Future shows the museum as a world in constant change: the amazing archives of thousands of years of nature and human history are constantly being interrogated in the present by fundamental research and the living apparatus of the museum to create stories for the future. The future to tell.
