Jack Miller talks about saving his MotoGP career

Jack Miller will help the Pramac Racing Yamaha team get back on track in MotoGP in 2025. For him, this is also a return to the team with which he celebrated great success.

Yamaha on Thursday officially announced Jack Miller's commitment to the Pramac Racing team – the Australian has signed a contract with Yamaha for 2025. He will drive the M1 for Pramac alongside Miguel Oliveira and will help the Japanese manufacturer return to its former strength in MotoGP.

For the second time in his career, Miller joins the team led by Paolo Campinoti. “It’s nice to be back. As I said, I think my job in the MotoGP World Championship is not over yet,” said Miller happily. “I want to thank Paolo and Yamaha for this opportunity and look forward to the future – this gives me a lot of confidence. But there is still a lot to do this year. Now comes my favourite time of the year with a lot of racing in a short space of time. I will enjoy it.”

Next year will be Miller's 11th season in MotoGP. Yamaha is his fourth manufacturer after Honda, Ducati and KTM. “I have experience with three different manufacturers and very different bike configurations. Next to him is Miguel, who has a lot of experience with KTM and Aprilia,” Miller confirmed, referring to Yamaha's plans. “They seem to have a clear strategy and direction. I'm trying to fit in well here. For me, it's a return to Paolo's team with the old mechanics – that would be very nice.”

How important are satellite teams in the further development of a motorcycle? “It’s not easy with two bikes on the starting grid. You can see at Ducati the knowledge they have with eight bikes – which has helped them a lot. They were the first to work with factory-backed satellite teams, followed by KTM. I think this is the new way to develop and evolve the bike. I’m really excited to be part of it,” said Miller.

Will Miller test Yamaha at the Valencia test after the last race? “That I know, yes,” he smiled.
