Residents and travelers to Slubice were not affected.
According to the Polish police, motorists should be directed to the Swiecó border crossing south of Frankfurt (Oder). Residents of the municipality and the region who go to Germany for work can enter the city and cross the Słubice-Frankfurt bridge.
The mayor of Slubice, Marzena Sdužněk, justifies these measures by saying that there should be no traffic jams in the current situation: “All services that are currently concerned with our safety due to the risk of flooding should be able to drive through the city without hindrance,” Sdužněk said.
