With a major update, the tech giant is combining the Xbox app and Xbox Game Pass app into one comprehensive platform.
Fewer apps, more games.
Previously, Xbox players had to switch back and forth between two apps to access all features. That’s changing. Starting in November, the Xbox Game Pass app will be discontinued and its features will be integrated into the main Xbox app. This creates a central point of contact for all Xbox services.
What does that mean to you?
- Everything in one place: Search the entire Game Pass catalog, manage your membership, and play games, all in one app.
- Less confusion: No more annoying searching for the right app for every job.
- Better overview: All your games, achievements, and friends are clearly organized in one place.
More than just app integration
In addition to app integration, the update brings other improvements:
- Quick play: Game updates can be downloaded in advance so you can get started right away.
- Smart Wish List: Get notified when your favorite games are released or added to Game Pass.
- Improve your computer experience: The new Game Bar Compact mode and improved game management options make gaming on your PC even more comfortable.
Why this change?
Microsoft wants to make the gaming experience as easy and fun as possible. The clear implementation helps gamers focus on what matters most: playing.
