Online supermarket Alfies is heading for change. The one-way deposit is on the way there.

Customers can already return the reusable bottles to Alfies, and the driver will take them with them the next time they order, a press release Tuesday said. With the introduction of the disposable deposit nationwide from 1 January 2025, this free service will be expanded to include plastic bottles and metal cans. Customers will receive a deposit of 25 cents per container automatically added to their customer account if the empty containers are intact.

The deposit will be collected automatically

Plastic bottles and metal cans subject to deposits from January 1, 2025 are marked in the Alfies online store and in the applications. There is also a label on the containers. When purchasing such a drink, a deposit of 25 cents per container is automatically charged, and after empty containers are returned to the driver, they are automatically credited to the customer's account for the next order. However, the containers must be intact. This means that bottles and cans must not be squeezed, distorted or damaged. Opening for consumption is of course permitted.
