Double win for competition team KAGes and Med Uni Graz at Europe's largest emergency medicine conference in Copenhagen

Double win for competition team KAGes and Med Uni Graz at Europe's largest emergency medicine conference in Copenhagen

Success through teamwork and regular training

“Our success lies in regular training and our strong team spirit.”“, explains team leader Dr. Bernhard Kowalski. “In emergency situations, it is important to make quick decisions and good coordination. The numerous training sessions help us to prioritize under time pressure and to prepare as well as possible for emergency situations.

The team not only achieved gold in the David Williams Euro Sim Cup, but also achieved first and second place in the Paramedics Cup. The focus here was clearly on preclinical care of critically ill patients and, as an additional challenge, had to be overcome in teams of two. Carola Tam and Elena Noe took first place, closely followed by Dr. Bernhard Kowalski and Jakob Lommer, who won the silver medal. Their many years of experience as emergency paramedics at the Red Cross Medical Corps Graz, the district office of the city of Graz, helped them here.

In addition, the conference provided the teams with a unique opportunity to network internationally and gain new ideas for daily patient care.
