The Israeli army today called on residents of an area in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon to seek safety and warned of an attack “in the near future.”
Army spokesman Avichay Adraee today published an “urgent warning to residents of the Bekaa region” on the electronic service
The Israeli military spokesman added: “They live near Hezbollah facilities (…) that will be targeted by the defense forces in the near future.” He urged residents to seek safety “at least 500 meters away” from these targets.
A new front has been opened
According to American media reports, the Israeli army opened a new front in the ground offensive in southern Lebanon. The New York Times reported after evaluating satellite images that Israeli forces are now also advancing on Nakura on the Mediterranean coast. Pictures show how Israeli military vehicles crossed the border into the neighboring country in the past few days.
Israeli forces captured another site during their ground offensive in Lebanon, according to a media report. Israeli TV Channel 12 reported that soldiers raised the Israeli flag in the village of Aita al-Shaab.
The broadcaster posted a video clip showing the flag on a tower surrounded by damaged and destroyed buildings. The place is located in southern Lebanon, directly behind the dividing line with Israel.
