The Nintendo Switch community has had to overcome some challenges (see below) following the latest major firmware update to version 19.0.0. Battery issues, overheating, and download interruptions were just some of the complaints echoed across social media.
Now Nintendo has released a new update, version 19.0.1, which should fix some of these issues. But what exactly has changed and have all the problems really disappeared?
What has changed?
According to Nintendo's official changelog, the new firmware fixes several issues that affected the console's stability and usability. This includes:
- Gamecube controller: Fixed an issue where the Nintendo GameCube controller call press would sometimes not be recognized
- Downloads in rest mode: Communication processes, such as software downloads in sleep mode, should now work more reliably
But what about other problems?
While Nintendo is addressing some specific issues, many user questions remain. Reports of battery problems and overheating have begun to appear widely on social media. Users will have to find out for themselves whether these issues have already been resolved with the new update.
Battery, heat and downloads: where are the problems?
The latest firmware version 19.0.0 for the Nintendo Switch has sparked a lot of conversations among some users. The following are particularly frequently mentioned:
- Battery problems: Many gamers complain about significantly reduced battery life, even with light use
- Temperature rise: The console will heat up more quickly than usual, which is not only inconvenient, but may also affect the life of the device
- Download problems: Some users reported that downloads stop working or interrupt in sleep mode
Are you affected too?
If you installed firmware 19.0.0 and encountered similar issues, you are not alone. It looks like Nintendo still has some homework to do here. But what can you do now?
First of all, we have to wait and see. Nintendo will likely release another update soon to fix the issues. If the problems are serious, you should contact Nintendo Support directly.
