Buyers’ Battle Next?: Intuit Stocks Lighter: Intuit appears to be exploring once again a multibillion dollar acquisition | newsletter

According to Chambers, US software company Intuit is currently exploring the purchase of Mailchimp, an email marketing service provider. Bloomberg News reported Wednesday, citing insiders, that Intuit is offering more than ten billion US dollars (about 8.5 billion euros) for the acquisition.

Both companies mainly focus on smaller corporate clients. American Intuit Group is best known for its QuickBooks accounting software and TurboTax tax return software. The acquisition of Mailchimp will be the largest in the company’s history. The California company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, made its largest acquisition to date, when Intuit acquired financial firm Credit Karma for $7.1 billion.

Mailchimp has positioned itself in a shop window for a potential sale, as Bloomberg reported last month. According to the information, only a minority stake sale has been explored. In addition to big tech companies like Intuit, financial investors have also expressed interest. The Intuit acquisition has yet to be confirmed and another potential buyer has not been ruled out, it has meanwhile been said from Chambers.

In US trade, Nasdaq-listed Intuit finally lost 0.53 percent to $563.13.
