AC Milan heads to the US this week for a marketing trip to prepare for the new season. However, the Rossoneri trio will not be joining the tour.
It is a clear sign of Stefano Pioli that he is no longer planning with Divock Origi, Ante Rebic and Fot Ballo-Tour. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the three players will not be coming to America, where Milan will prepare for the new season from July 21 to August 1 and will also play several high-profile friendlies.
Of course, this development is not surprising. Rebic has already missed out on the matchday squad several times in last season’s finals, but at the same time is one of Milan’s best-paid players – it’s logical that he’s been dropped from the squad now so he can quickly find a new club.
Origi, who arrived in Milan on a free transfer from Liverpool FC last summer, has been a disappointment for the most part. Again and again he was stopped by physical problems, and he couldn’t believe when he played as a Belgian. His salary is also too high for Milan to continue planning with him.
While Ballo-Tour isn’t one of the Rossoneri’s highest-paid players, he isn’t short of opportunities either: the left-back simply doesn’t meet the Champions League club’s needs. Most recently, he has been linked with Werder Bremen, Bologna and OGC Nice.
