Golden Scorer Nader Aganovic in an interview:
Nader, congratulations on your first professional goal! How did that feel for you?
Nader Aganovic: Thank you! It was a really great feeling. Everything comes to mind straight away: all the time at the academy, the training, the people who supported you. To score my first professional goal as an academy graduate is just a dream. It shows me that all the work has paid off. Celebrating that moment with the boys on the pitch was really special. What's more, it was the decisive goal, which of course makes it even better.
You've gone through the entire Admira academy. How does it feel to have achieved something big as a professional and scored a goal?
Nader Aganovic: My time at the academy had a huge impact on me. Not only did I learn football there, but I also learned what it meant to play for Admira. To be standing here now, as a graduate and a top scorer, is incredible. It makes you feel that anything is possible if you stick with it.
Last season you played in the regional league for Traiskirchen and now you have reached the professional level. How has this transition been for you?
Nader Aganovic: The transition was exciting and difficult at the same time. I was able to learn and develop a lot in Traiskirchen, but when I got minutes with the professionals, I realized what it really means to play in the second division. It wasn't always easy, but the trust of the coaching staff and the players really helped me. Now I feel like I've arrived and I have a lot of motivation to keep pushing.
The first leg against Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz is at the weekend. How do you start the match after your first goal?
Nader Aganovic: Definitely with a lot of desire! The goal has given me a lot of confidence and I definitely want to build on that. Bregenz will definitely not be a walk in the park, but we will go there to get the points. I will do everything I can to make the difference again, whether with a goal or otherwise. It is important that we put in a strong performance as a team and get the three points.
Now that you've taken the first big step, what do you plan to do in the long term?
Nader Aganovic: My goal is to constantly improve and become an integral part of the team. Of course you dream of being on the international stage at some point, but now it's about giving it your all here and now – I'm excited to see what's to come.
