Mrs. Wesleydon, the narrator, is a character in the series who anonymously spreads the latest gossip through newspaper newsletters. Now the actress who plays this character is teasing how she will continue in Season 2.
The true identity of Mrs. Wesleydon is revealed at the end of the first season, and Penelope Ferrington, played by Nicola Coughlan, was 34. In a new interview with The Wrap, the actress explained that the plots get more muddled in season two. Because now that audiences know both sides, they’ll be curious to see how Penelope managed to bring both roles under one roof. “It’s so much fun for the audience to be a part of,” she explains. She assures that this time fans will be “on the road” with Penelope.
She’s particularly excited about the growing importance of her character in season two: “In season one, she’s very naive,” she explains. “In season two she gets a little smarter.
