The highlight of the Steyr Advent concert, the Advent concert with the Vienna Boys’ Choir in the sold-out parish church of Steyr-Münichholz, was a musical delight for all in attendance.
This year, the Steyr Münchholz & Turnberg Catholic Men’s Movement successfully involved the Vienna Boys’ Choir in their ninth Advent concert in the Münchholz Parish Church. Kapellmeister Manolo Cagnin and the Bruckner Choir fully met the audience’s expectations in the concert. Everyone can see how much Manolo Canin enjoys working with his choir and how close he is to the boys. He always focused on the great choir and soloists. In the first acoustic mass, pieces by Mozart, Schubert and Kratochwil, among others, are heard. After that we continued singing at Christmas. Between singing masses of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, KMB President Michael Brantner read contemplative short stories. Another highlight was the visit he made to Steyr Christkindl. The visitors thanked the choir for their wonderful performance that evening with a standing ovation. During the devotional yodeling and the Christmas medley encore, Manolo Canin invited everyone to sing and join in. At the subsequent meet-and-greet event in the parish hall, the choir bid farewell with a song: “On the Road Again.”
The Austrian-German tour of the Bruckner Choir of the Vienna Boys’ Choir continues until December 22, 2023.
The Vienna Boys’ Choir is always looking for new talents and would be very pleased to welcome future boys’ choirs from Steyr. The test is just an email or phone call away. All information about this can be found on the home page of the Vienna Boys’ Choir.
